Myanmar Incentive Itinerary

Day 1 – arrival yangon   

Upon arrival at YANGON Airport (ETA, EK388@ 10:35 am), you will be welcomed by your Asian Trails guide.

Optional:      You will be welcomed by Myanmar Hostess wearing a traditional Costume and they will offer Flowers Garlands.

Lunch at local restaurant (Monsoon Restaurant).

Distribution of the room-keys immediately and guests make up refreshment.

In the hotel’s rooms, we put Longyi (Sarong) with a letter of explanation about the gift. When we visit to Pagodas or religious monuments, it is advisable to cover the legs.

You will have a first approach of Yangon one of the most fascinating cities in Southeast Asia with its impressive colonial and spiritual heritage.

You will discover the central place, with the SULE Pagoda, dating back over 2,000 years. This Pagoda is surrounded by busy streets, colonial buildings like the Supreme Court building, the city hall. Have a walk in the park of MAHA BANDOOLA with its Independence Monument and enjoy the lively local atmosphere on the evening.

Complete your extended visit to one of the world’s most spectacular monuments, the SHWEDAGON PAGODA and you will make offering lighting candles to Buddha (A row of candles stretching out into the distance put the light his own candle at the light trough at Shwedagon Pagoda).

Transfer to your hotel.

Dinner and overnight stay at Kandawgyi Palace Hotel (****, Deluxe room) or similar in Yangon.

Optional:      DINNER WITH CULTURAL SHOW AT KARAWEIK HALL RESTAURANT.

A traditional cultural show as private can be arranged in hotels upon advance request. A show can include a long series of Myanmar traditional songs and dances played by Myanmar Orchestra during the dinner but particular traditional dance performances can be chosen from the series depending on the wish. A simple Myanmar Five Pieces Music or a peaceful romantic pair of harp and xylophone music can also be an option.

Probably the best fine dining restaurant located in the quiet and peaceful corner of the city of Yangon. The restaurant is elegantly set in the garden with green lawns and palm trees, in-direct lighting and candles with the colonial house as a back drop beautifully decorated with selected arts.  It serves French and Indochina cuisines and the best Myanmar and international wines.

Day 2 – Yangon – Bagan

After breakfast, you will meet the guide in the lobby of the hotel.

Transfer to the domestic departure to take flight (approx.: 08:45-10:05) to Bagan.

From the 9th to 13th centuries, the city was the capital of the Kingdom of Pagan, the first kingdom to unify the regions that would later constitute modern Myanmar. Between the 11th and 13th centuries, over 10,000 Buddhist temples, pagodas and monasteries were constructed in the Bagan plains, of which the remains of over 2200 temples and pagodas still survive to the present day.

You will start your day with visiting to the colorful Nyaung U local market, where you will discover plenty of Fruits and vegetables. You will experience the daily life of local people.

You will experience the most significant pagodas and temples of Bagan: MANUHA TEMPLE built in Mon style in 1059; NANBAYA TEMPLE, a unique Sandstone monument which according to legends used to be palace site of the King Manuha; SHWEZIGON PAGODA, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century as a religious shrine and ANANDA TEMPLE, with four standing Buddha images.

Enjoy your Lunch with the view on the river of Ayeyarwaddy (Sunset Garden local restaurant).

Back to the hotel, you will have some time to relax and rest around the swimming pool.

In the late afternoon (around 16:00 pm), the unique 11th century style horse carts will wait for you. You will discover an unforgettable sunshine from the upper terrace of one of the temples (chosen by our guide off the beaten track).

Dinner with puppet show at local restaurant.

Day 3 – Bagan

After breakfast, you will meet the guide in the lobby of the hotel.

You will start by a morning bike ride around the temples on the dusty rural roads.

On the way you will visit:

TAYOKEPYAY TEMPLE in Min Nan Thu Village; PHAYA THONE ZU and NANDAMANYA TEMPLES noted for their exquisite murals of 13th century and KYAT KAN CAVE monastery, a famous meditation retreat in Bagan.

Optional:      You can choose an Electric Bike

In the late morning, transfer to one of the monasteries exclusively reserved. Introduction and chat with the monks and their lay attendants called “KAPPIYA”. You will have the chance to observe the religious side of monkhood and see how the monks practice their daily routine in a mood of peace, calm and silence.

  • Enjoy Lunch inside of the Monastery by eating as the local people. (Special catered).
  • Return to the hotel.
  • Free time for swimming and relax.

Around 3:30pm, you will learn about the manufacturing of Myanmar’s most treasured handicrafts and visit a lacquer ware craftsmen’s workshop in nearby MYINKABA village. Later, continue to MANUHA TEMPLE, built in Mon style in 1059 and explore the NANBAYA TEMPLE, a unique sandstone monument which according to legends used to be palace site of King Manuha.

Complete a day by cruising sunset over majestic AYEYARWADDY river.

You will enjoy a private cocktail on board.

Transfer to the restaurant.

Optional:      Candlelit Bagan Temple Dinner, Cater By Local Restaurant

A candle lit dinner can be arranged for you next to an EXCLUSIVELY RESERVED PAGODA complex in the Bagan area. You will be welcomed by a flood of torch lights, candles and bamboo lamps for an unforgettable evening. Dinner tables will be set in front of the entrance to a temple complex for an unforgettable meal in magical surroundings. The entertainment of the night will consist of traditional Myanmar dance and xylophone and harp music. (Important note: This special event is arranged by a pagoda complex. Pork, beef and alcoholic drinks are not allowed due to religions customs and traditions of Myanmar.)

Optional:       COCKTAIL ON THE SAND WITH DEMONSTRATIONS OF PLAYING CHIN-LONE BEFORE THE SUNSET CRUISE

Chin Lone is a traditional game, which refers to a woven rattan ball, similar to takraw of Thailand & Malaysia. Informally any number of players can form a circle and keep the Chin Lone airborne by kicking it soccer-style from player to player; a lack of scoring makes it a favorite pastime with Myanmar of all ages.

Optional:      Dandaree, a visual masterpiece (show only), features striking presentation styles, unmatched light and sound production, and multimedia techniques synchronized with stage performances by more than a 70 talented dancers, actors and performers who come together to tell the story of Myanmar’s arts and cultural treasure.

Optional:       BALLOONS OVER  BAGAN

Imagine floating over thousand year old pagodas and the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River, as the sun slowly rises over the temple dotted plains of Bagan. The magic of Bagan has inspired visitors to Myanmar for centuries. One of the most remarkable sights in Asia, ancient temples dot the landscape as far as the eye can see. Now ‘Balloons over Bagan’ grant visitors a unique opportunity to see this ancient kingdom, as never before. The sunrise champagne flights last just under one hour and take off daily from October through to the end of March. The balloon is guided by gentle winds not exceeding 20 km per hour, allowing passengers a serene and peaceful bird’s-eye view of ancient temples drifting by. Using his skill the pilot is able to guide the balloon to a gentle landing on the banks of the Ayeyarwaddy River, or in an open field, where the friendly crew and a celebratory glass of champagne will be on hand.

Day 4 – Bagan – Heho – Inle lake

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for domestic flight (approx.: 08:25-09:40) to Heho. Upon arrival, drive (62 km, 1½ h) to Nyaung Shwe.

On the way you will see the monastery of Shwe Yan Pyay which is a fascinating wooden monastery built in the early 19th Century with unique oval shape windows.

Visit Myanmar’s premier vineyard THE RED MOUNTAIN, on the slopes of mountain range rising east of the Inle Lake. Enjoy a Wine Degustation

in the vineyard, while enjoying enchanting views over the lake. The Red Mountain Estates is locally owned vineyard ran by French winemaker who has been passionately making wine in Myanmar for the last 10 years.

Then, you will transfer to the restaurant and enjoy Lunch at local restaurant.

Transfer to the jetty of Nyaung Shwe.

Take a traditional wooden boat.

See the famous Inthar leg rowers, floating gardens, local methods of fishing, village life and magnificent scenery. You will visit the PHAUNGDAW OO PAGODA, one of the most sacred shrines in Myanmar, dating back to the 18th century, the NGA PHE MONASTERY, famous for its beautiful collection of ancient Buddha statues.

Transfer to the hotel.

Day 5 – Inle lake – Indein

Breakfast in the hotel.

Board your boat to the western shore of the lake where you will find the beginning of a stair path leading to the INDEIN PAGODA complex. Visit one of the most amazing historical sights on the shore of the lake consisting of hundreds of small stupas overgrown by moss and greens. Continue on foot to a village nearby where several crops are grown in traditional ways. Walk in an easy pace along one of the many creeks passing through rice fields to the village of SAE MA.

Private Lunch at Traditional Intha House, where a traditional home cooked Shan lunch will be served in a local Inthar house. Enjoy eating as the locals do, on the floor and on low tables.

In the afternoon, meet the people in the villages on the lake and travel to one of the monasteries to observe the monastic activities. Return by boat to hotel.

On the way back to your hotel we will organize a private FISHERMEN INTERACTION ON THE LAKE (maximum 2-3 models are demonstrated – 1Hrs).

Transfer to your hotel, and take some time to relax and be ready for a special dinner.

Led by the chef, clients participate actively in the shopping for meat and vegetables at the local market which are necessary for the menu they are going to cook. The chef explains about the ingredient. Cooking lessons are taken place in the private area of the restaurant’s kitchen. At the end every participant enjoys a special meal they prepared.

Lunch is included in the cooking class.

Optional:      Before Dinner at your hotel LANTERN FLOATING CEREMONY IN INLE LAKE (approx.: 30 mins)

You will enjoy a special lantern floating ceremony.  The meaning of this action is to give respect to the Guardian of the Lake, and by doing it; it will bring you luck and fortune.  All the Lanterns are made with local Shan Paper and with Bamboo.

Day 6 – Inle lake – Heho – Thandwe – Ngapali

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for domestic flight (approx.: 09:10-10:10) to Thandwe. Upon arrival, shared transfer (provide by hotel) and check into the hotel.

Myanmar’s coastline is a dream comes true for worshippers of sun, sea and sand. Kilometres of white un-spoilt sand beaches fringed with coconut groves invite travellers who love to swim, sunbathe, snorkel or stroll along the ocean.

Ngapali Beach, situated northwest of Yangon in the Bay of Bengal, is Myanmar’s most prestigious seaside resort, a truly undiscovered paradise far away from tourist crowds. There are no noisy beach bars, no discos, and no crowds.

White sand, the natural scenic beauty of the blue sea, swaying palm trees and privacy is a guaranteed ingredient of a beach holiday at Ngapali Beach.

Both lunch and dinner at hotel.

Day 7 – Ngapali

Thursday Breakfast at hotel. You will leisure at Ngapali Beach.

Today relaxation and discovery of a small island off Ngapali.

After a few minutes by boat, Pearl Island offers an exceptional site where combine in any kind harmony, culture and relaxation.

You will enjoy relaxing, diving (mask and tuba), fishing for the more intrepid .

Private Picnic will be organizing on the beach (exclusive service).

Then, you will come to your hotel.

Free time for relaxing, by having a SPA (Optional).

Meeting and enjoy a cocktail (open bar in the beach)

Seafood barbecue Dinner (Except Lobster) at an exclusive venue, in the garden of the hotel

Day 8 – Ngapali – Thandwe – Yangon – International departure

After breakfast, you will transfer to the airport for domestic flight (approx.: 10:25-11:15) to Yangon.

Stroll through the BOGYOKE (SCOTTS) MARKET (closed on Mondays and public holidays) with hundreds of food, clothes, handicrafts and gems stores.

Lunch at local restaurant.

Transfer to Yangon airport for your international flight departure.
